The Forrest Research Foundation, in partnership with the Fogarty Foundation, is pleased to welcome Dr Sara Ratner to Western Australia as a Distinguished Visiting Researcher, bringing international expertise to discussions on the role of artificial intelligence in education.
Dr Ratner’s first engagement was the AI in Education Think Tank, which brought together educators, researchers, policymakers and school leaders to explore the opportunities and challenges presented by AI in teaching and learning.
Drawing on international examples and research, Dr Ratner highlighted key considerations including student safeguarding, AI literacy, and the role of evidence-informed decision-making in shaping the future of education.
The AI in Education Think Tank marks the beginning of several engagements during Dr Ratner’s visit, further strengthening connections between research, policy, and practice to support positive outcomes for students, educators, and communities.
