The University of Western Australia (UWA), Perron Institute for Neurological and Translational Science and the Neurological Council of WA are proud to present the dynamic ‘Neuro Nouveau: when art meets science’ exhibition of multidisciplinary artworks created by talented undergraduate students.
The artworks were created by students enrolled in the popular first-year unit Neuroscience in Society (NEUR1001), where students are encouraged to explore creativity in science and think outside the box.
This is the first exhibition of NEUR1001 work spanning visual arts, digital media, film and performance, including images and videos that explore metaphors for neuroscience to provide new insights and understanding.
The artworks delve into neuroscience topics such as neurodegenerative diseases, mental illness, and explore fundamental concepts of how the brain works. This cross-disciplinary approach fosters artistic expression and collaboration, reflecting UWA’s commitment to supporting creative development and critical thinking among its students.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 15-16 March 2025 at Forrest Hall to coincide with Brain Awareness Week.
Admission is free, and all members of the community are encouraged to attend and support the next generation of artists.
