Congratulations to the Kelp Forrest team, who have completed this year’s Rottnest Channel Swim. Anna Faber, Dr Samuel Starko, Marie Windstein, Lianna Gendall, paddler Dr Jacob Martin (alumnus) and skipper Oliver Jewell covered almost 20km of open sea, starting from Cottesloe Beach and finishing at Rottnest Island.
Inspired by Dr Jane Goodall’s visit to the Forrest Research Foundation last year, the team have been fundraising for The Jane Goodall Institute Australia (JGIA), which is an independent non-profit organisation dedicated to equipping young people for custodial leadership of our shared environment.
Additionally, JGIA supports international initiatives such as the Girls’ Empowerment Project, which aims to end period poverty and help girls stay in school, thereby fostering positive long-term change for local communities and the chimpanzee population.
With every dollar contributing to education, empowerment and inspiring young people to take positive action for animals, people and the environment, the Foundation applauds the Kelp Forrest team’s efforts.
