The Forrest Research Foundation recently hosted their National Science Week Showcase, transforming Forrest Hall into a hub of scientific exploration and wonder. Families gathered for an afternoon filled with engaging experiments and interactive experiences.
Attendees had the opportunity to dive into hands-on activities that brought science to life, thanks to Supersonic Science. The showcase featured a variety of thrilling experiments, including CO2 rockets and Supersonic Slime, which delighted both children and adults.
Guests also embarked on virtual journeys, exploring the universe’s beginnings and venturing inside molecules. The Science Stations were buzzing with excitement, offering insights into meteorites, carbon-fibre bones, black hole hunts, and more.
Throughout the day, current and former Forrest Scholars and Fellows shared their research through a series of engaging presentations. The event also featured a unique photo booth, where visitors could capture moments against a backdrop of images ranging from microscopic to galactic scales.
The event was a resounding success thanks to the Forrest Research Foundation’s Science Communications Commitee and a grant from Inspiring Australia.
