Adelle holds a PhD in Astrophysics from Monash University (2021), and a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) from Monash University (2016). She moved to Perth in 2021 to continue her career in astrophysics as a postdoctoral researcher at the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research, Curtin University where she works on watching stars destroyed by supermassive black holes with Australian radio telescopes.
One of four sisters (including an identical twin), Adelle comes from a family of strong women that values finding what you are passionate about and following that pathway; whether it is medicine, environmental conservation, 18th Century French literature, or astrophysics. In addition to astronomy, Adelle is passionate about the environment, family, crocheting, and making the most of living in the wonderful Western Australia by snorkelling the beautiful coral reefs and hiking. In her free time, Adelle enjoys disseminating her research and knowledge of space to fellow West Australians in her role as volunteer night sky tour guide at the historic Perth Observatory.
As a member of the incredible Forrest Research Foundation community, Adelle works towards improving the culture of astronomy for minority groups, to provide an inclusive, collaborative, and exciting research environment tackling the most pressing unknowns about black holes and making space accessible to all.
