For thirty years, Bruce Ramus has designed and directed grand-scale, theatrical light experiences for some of the biggest names in music, including U2, David Bowie and R.E.M. From his Melbourne studio, Mr Ramus leads a team of artists, technologists, show producers and designers to bring unique and unforgettable digital art, live shows and lighting designs to life for both the public and private sectors.
In partnership with FORM – Building A State of Creativity, Mr Ramus joined the Foundation for an in-conversation industry roundtable, facilitated by Forrest Creative Fellow, Dr Andrea Rassell, where he shared his journey, his practice, lessons learnt and explained how light can make cities more inclusive.
He touched on a diverse range of light art that attracts and inspires people and communities through unique and compelling works, which focus on “creating space, not taking up space.”
