The Forrest Research Foundation and The Farm Margaret River have signed a new partnership designed to connect creative and research communities through shared residency and exchange opportunities.
Under the agreement, The Farm will welcome Forrest Research Foundation researchers, including the Forrest Creative Fellows, to spend time at the Margaret River property to pursue their practice and have time for reflection and fieldwork in an environment that encourages cross-disciplinary exploration. In return, artists-in-residence from The Farm will have the opportunity to engage with Perth’s vibrant academic and innovation ecosystem through a residency at the Foundation’s home at Forrest Hall.
The partnership celebrates the shared mission of both organisations – to foster curiosity, creativity, and collaboration across disciplines. By bringing together artists and researchers in two uniquely Western Australian settings, the initiative aims to generate new ideas, strengthen regional connections, and expand the impact of creative and scholarly work.
“The Forrest Research Foundation and The Farm at Margaret River both share the goal of making Western Australia a global knowledge and creativity hub,” said Professor James Arvanitakis, the Director of the Forrest Research Foundation. “This program will benefit both our communities.”
This week, it was announced that Dr Cassandra Tytler, Forrest Research Foundation alumna based at Edith Cowan University, will be the inaugural awardee of the residency at The Farm.
