The Forrest Research Foundation had the privilege of hosting the Falling Walls Lab Perth 2025, a renowned global pitch competition. This event provided students and early-career professionals from diverse fields the opportunity to present their breakthrough ideas in just three minutes to an esteemed panel of judges. Representatives from our partner universities delivered ten impressive presentations covering a wide range of topics, from addressing leadership shortages to solving electricity blackouts.
We extend our congratulations to the state winner, Dr. Kit Prendergast from UWA, and runner-up, Dr. Houda Ennaceri from Murdoch University, who will move on to compete in the Australian finals in Canberra this September. Mingxin Ye (UWA) achieved an impressive third place.
The Foundation extends its gratitude to the judges: Professor Peta Ashworth OAM, Professor Tarun Weeramanthri AM, Dr. Roop Judge, Dr. Daphne Lakhiani, Kate Kirwin, and Dr. Jacob Martin, as well as to all participants who contributed to making this year’s lab a success.
