Virginia Mosk began as our new Program Coordinator in 2022 hitting the ground running, firstly supporting Professor Paul Johnson and then Professor James Arvanitakis, with the running of the Forrest Research Foundation and Forrest Hall, the support of all the Fellows, Scholars and their families on their journeys whilst in WA. She creates wonderful workshops and events to engage all within and outside the Foundation, including other universities across Australia and worldwide, as well as industry and community.
Virginia is an alumnus of Melbourne University and the University of Western Australia where she researched the Visual Systems of Seahorse, Pipefish and Seadragons. She has also run her own fish farms, other businesses, worked in higher education, industry, local government and not-for-profit environments.
She went on to work on an AusAID project assisting Vietnamese farmers with Best Management Practices on their shrimp farms. She has extensive experience in Program and Project Management, Administration and Event Management. She spends her spare time valuing and educating about the Australian bush and oceans, running meditation and ecotourism retreats, and teaching children to swim and snorkel to instil their confidence and love of the aquatic environment.
