Forrest Research Foundation Director Professor James Arvanitakis, Program Coordinator Louise Renwick and Forrest Fellow Dr Neil Robinson were delighted to attend the launch of the Western Australian Government’s new Science and Technology Plan.
The 10-year action plan outlines the State’s strategic vision to enhance its scientific and technological capabilities, building upon Western Australia’s strengths, including space operations, remote technologies, marine science, health care and renewables.
With six priority sectors, the plan will look to create jobs, attract talent, investment and boost the economy in an effort to establish Western Australia as a global hub for leading and inclusive scientific and technological research, development and commercialisation.
The Foundation is proud to have been a part of the strategy development process, with several Forrest Scholars and Fellows engaged by the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation Committee during the consultation phase.
