Chief Scientist Professor Sharath Sriram and members of the Western Australian Science and Technology Council (WASTC) recently met at Forrest Hall for a Council meeting attended by leaders from across Western Australia’s research, industry and government sectors.
Among those attending was Minister Stephen Dawson, Minister for Regional Development; Ports; Science and Innovation; Medical Research; and Minister for the Kimberley.
The meeting included presentations from Forrest Fellows at The University of Western Australia, Dr Connor Bottrell and Dr Upama Aich, who shared insights into their research and its potential impact. Council members also had the opportunity to meet with the Early and Mid-Career Advisory Group over lunch.
Hosting the Council provided an opportunity to showcase the breadth of research being undertaken by Forrest Fellows and to connect Council members with emerging researchers contributing to Western Australia’s scientific and innovation landscape.
