As the academic year comes to a close, the Forrest Research Foundation Alumni Committee formally welcomed Dr Chong Wei, Dr Harrison Caddy, Dr Celina Burkholz, Dr Brenton von Takach, Dr Neil Robinson and Dr Jason Eshraghian as the newest members of the alumni community. The event, which took place at Forrest Hall, marked a culmination of their journey at the Foundation and their entry into an international network of Forrest Research Foundation alumni.
The alumni ceremony has become an important tradition to recognise the researcher’s meaningful contribution to the community, but also as a reminder of their connection to the Foundation as they move into the next chapter of their careers. James Arvanitakis, Director of the Forrest Research Foundation presented each recipient with a message stick created by Indigenous Australian artists, with the design representing people travelling to and from the Forrest Research Foundation. Furthermore, in recognition of the significant contribution of the Honourable Professor Robert French AC, the Chair of the Forrest Research Foundation Governing Committee and Chancellor of the University of Western Australia, a message stick was presented to him in gratitude for his seven years of service, which will conclude at the end of this year.
The alumni ceremony recipients leave behind a legacy of leadership and excellence, serving as role models for future Forrest Scholars and Forrest Fellows. The Foundation looks forward to watching these talented leaders continue to thrive and make meaningful contributions within their respective fields.
