Teaching bacteria to eat plastics and advancements in carbon and Kevlar fiber composites were just some of the topics discussed during an informal roundtable with Member for Nedlands, Jonathan Huston MLA, this week.
The meeting with Forrest Research Foundation Director, Professor James Arvanitakis, and researchers Anna Faber and Mingxin Ye delved into various subjects spanning research and innovation, including medical research, economic complexity, advanced manufacturing, and university innovation.
The session highlighted the importance of dialogue between researchers and policymakers, to drive future advancements and tackle the challenges facing the world today.
